Thanksgiving, the start of the holiday season is right around the corner!!! Family, friends and FOOD is probably what comes to mind!! Despite what you may think, a healthy Thanksgiving meal is actually not at all hard to achieve! Side dishes are often what can contribute most significantly to our calorie and fat intake. We can combat this by having some smart, healthy (and yummy!) sides while still enjoying all our favorite foods!!
All of my patients know that I tend to put vegetables on a pedestal (where they should be in my opinion lol!!). It is such an easy way to add bulk to our meals without any guilt! Also veggies are so full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that I believe Thanksgiving is the perfect time to showcase them!! Here are some delicious side dish ideas (that all include veggies!) to add to your feast!!
